Halloween Storyline
After being committed for 15 years, Michael Myers, now a 21-year-old man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 6 year old) and immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

Halloween goofs
- FAKE: When the ten-year-old Michael Myers goes to get the knife from the drawer to kill his sister, as he removes it the knife bends slightly, revealing that it to be a fake.
- CONT: When Ken Foree climbs out of his truck the wash attendant lifts the hood then goes for a hose. When the camera switches to where Ken's character is walking, you can see in the background the attendant lifts the hood and goes for the hose again.
- CONT: SPOILER: When Michael first dons the gray mask before killing his sister he strokes the mask with a fresh blood stained hand, yet there is no blood on the mask.
- CONT: When Laurie is trapped in the Myers' house her hair goes from curly to straight in each shot.
- FAKE: During the winter visit to the jail by Dr Loomis; you can see a deciduous tree in the upper left that has leaves that are as green as they are in the summer, yet there is six inches of snow on the ground.
Halloween plot
- The residents of Haddonfield don't know it yet... but death is coming to their small sleepy town. Sixteen years ago, a ten year old boy called Michael Myers brutally kills his step father, his elder sister and her boyfriend. Sixteen years later, he escapes from the mental institution and makes his way back to his hometown intent on a murderous rampage pursued by Dr Sam Loomis who is Michael's doctor and the only one who knows Michael's true evil. Elsewhere a shy teenager by the name of Laurie Strode is babysitting on the night Michael comes home... is it pure coincidence that she and her friends are being stalked by him?
